I was horrified due to the staffs actions, I was looking at the budgerigars when a little boy asked to hold one a staff member agreed and attempted to grabb one for the boy though the birds were to fast. The staff member proceeded to get a step into the cage to catch one, which is a couple feet off the floor. The staff member was a fully grown adult male, had he taken a wrong step budgies could've died or gotten free.
Got a guinea pig about three weeks ago, turns out she was pregnant. She's in good health but that was unexpected.
I went against my better judgement and bought a snake from this pet store.. There were 3 other baby ball pythons in the cage and 2/3 we're stuck in shed.. The humidity thermometer read around 30 and that's way too low especially for fragile babies that have probably only shed once before. While thinking about getting the snake I looked around and I saw 4 snakes that were in little hermit crab cages inside of another cage with BONE DRY WATER BOWLS.. I told the employees about it and they laughed it off.(also I ended up going back like 3 days later to spend a store credit and the exact same bowls were STILL DRY! It's obvious that these animals aren't being cared for properly and are not the top priority here. Then it gets even better, around a week or so after bringing the snake home I start noticing these tiny little moving specks on and under the scales of my snake. After doing research turns out they are BLOOD MITES!! I didn't know he had him when I brought him home because they were in the nymph stage and almost impossible to see untill they feed and grow larger. I was so mad, scared for my baby snake, and felt completely lied to because when I got it I asked where it came from and the employee said "a local family that breeds them" turns out after some digging he was breed at a place called "Reptiles by Mack" which is a terrible business to support, they run their company as if it was a reptile puppy mill, you can go to YouTube to see just how they treat their animals from a PETA investigation that went viral. After talking very calmly to the woman who rang me up when I got my snake my opinions we're 1. Give the animal whom I've become attached to back 2. Do nothing and fix it myself... Turns out after going to a vet and $300.00 dollars later he had an upper respiratory infection as well. So I literally ended up paying around $750.00 (including vet bills) for a $200.00 (market price) Ivory ball python who had BLOOD MITES, STUCK SHED, a small BURN of some sort on his back just behind his head, and an UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTION. Please be warned when dealing with this store, they were sooo nice when I was buying my snake and other items but as soon as I had a problem with an animal that they sold me the woman told me I needed to calm down and bring him back.. Yeah right! -5 stars
